COURSE / WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS

 

The course includes 5 x 45 minute PRIVATE LESSONS. The teachers have the choice - if approved by artistic director - to provide lessons as master classes, which are attended by all students.

There is an opportunity to take part in CHAMBER MUSIC LESSONS of applied existing groups. Furthermore, in the beginning of the Academy additional groups might be formed to facilitate those students who expressed their interest in chamber music lessons in their application forms.

CHAMBER MUSIC WITH AN ARTIST means that one member of a chamber music group will be the nominated responsible teaching artist. The groups will be formed and the pieces to work on decided once all the applications have been received and approved. The sheet music is mailed to the members of the chamber music groups in the beginning of June.

ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE is taught by the cellist Lauri Angervo. In a nutshell; Alexander technique is about improving the sense of one’s own body and mind. It is very beneficial for a musician’s well being. Course is taught in the form of group lessons but each student may also have a private session.

CHAMBER MUSIC HISTORY AND MUSIC THEORY COURSE is given by Mr. Ville Komppa.

Three day IMPROVISATION COURSE is given by Mr. Marzi Nyman.

CONTINUO PLAYING COURSE FOR PIANISTS is given by Mrs. Irina Zahharenkova.
